These are women who have overcome the odds and made their businesses successful. Their business savvy and tenacity make them good role models for anyone, especially in light of businesses’ struggles because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

  1. Christina Kaye

In January 2020, Christina Kaye started the company Write Your Best Book. Her company focuses on helping writers through coaching and editing. Her company has become one of the top ten podcasts for authors and has brought in a six-figure profit. For such a young company, her success is quite an achievement.

 

  1. Tori Donnelly

Donnelly co-founded WorkClub, which helps businesses, individuals, and teams find workspaces that meet their needs. She grew her business while caring for her newborn daughter, born in early 2020, just before the pandemic lockdowns occurred. She is the primary caregiver for her daughter while also managing her portion of business operations.

 

  1. Michael AnnMarie Sherlock

Sherlock founded a global leadership and training company called Shock Your Potential, which made most of its profits before the pandemic by physically bringing people to in-person workshops. When the pandemic brought her business to a standstill, Sherlock had to figure out how to get her business through these unique challenges. Shock Your Potential launched a new version of their podcast and developed an app. Their app, still in the Beta phase, has already reached almost 1000 users despite not doing any advertising. The complete program launches in January of 2022.

 

  1. Cindy Orr

Cindy Orr is a chemist who developed a shampoo product that could be used at home, which deposits color into the hair. Her line of products, No Fade Fresh, is the first product of its type to be sold to home users instead of just salons. Her products can be found in Targets, CVS, and ShopRite as of 2020. They sparked particular interest during the pandemic lockdowns as people spent far more time at home and far less time at hair salons.

 

Doaa Dashoush is an experienced businesswoman in the fashion industry. She currently serves as the President and CEO of GFASHION, a global luxury brand currently based in New York City. GFASHION prides themselves on their unique approach to the industry. They don’t follow trends set by others. The Luxury brand focuses on innovative design through their work with the top designers on collections that reflect the company’s craftsmanship.
